BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT:

The Department of Zoology, Government Degree College, GajapathinagaramVizianagaramdist, was established in the year 2019, as a result of sanction of Science sections having C. B. Z (Chemistry, Botany and Zoology and M. P. C (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) groups. It is affiliated to Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. Initially the department faced all the juvenile problems non sanctioned posts.  

Posts Sanctioned:

Initially Zoology classes for CBZ students were taken up by the faculty who were deputed from different Government Degree Colleges (2019- 2023.) In March 2023 two permanent posts were sanctioned by the government. Non – teaching posts were not sanctioned.

Dr. G. VijayaDurga:

She has been appointed as the first regular faculty for the Department of Zoology transferred from Government Degree College, Salur in general transfers -2023 and joined in this college on 03-08-2023 and appointed as a regular lecturer in sanctioned post.
